Year 6 - Creative Art Career Day
Wednesday 12th July 2023
We recently held a Creative Art Career Day for our Year 6 children. It was an absolutely brilliant opportunity for the children to think about and consider their future journey in life, in jobs that they would never have thought about or even considered.
The children were totally engrossed throughout the whole session asking questions about what skills they needed, how they started their careers as an artist, what qualifications were needed in the different fields, where did they train, and what schools in London they attended.
The feedback from the children was amazing. They thoroughly enjoyed it. “I didn’t know there was such a variety of art jobs.” “It’s so interesting, such amazing stuff.” “ Wow! I never even thought about a career in art, I love it and want to be an artist.” And so many more great comments.
More importantly, this opportunity has opened their eyes to realising that if their strengths are in the creative arts, there is more out there to explore and there is hope for them!
Children explored filmmaking, puppeteering, word mechanics and multi-media.
We'd also like to say a big thank you to Mrs Hopla for organising this event.
