Year 4 - Writing
The Talk for Writing approach enables children to imitate orally the language they need for a particular topic, before reading and analysing it and then writing their own version. Our story this term was a Journey Tale. Our character Hiccup was sent to find a dragon and warned not to come home empty-handed, unfortunately, he encountered the Greedy Gronkle and was chased back to his village a little bit worse for wear. Luckily, in his hand, he held not one, not two but three dragon eggs. Suddenly he heard a loud crack!!!
The children then wrote the sequel to the story. There were lots of interesting thoughts on what happened next.
