Tuesday 4 March 2025 Shrove Tuesday - Nursery Nursery had great fun on Shrove Tuesday making and tasting pancakes. They listened well to instructions, talked about the ingredients and recipe, followed the safety rules and took turns nicely. Well done nursery!!

Monday 3 February 2025 Year 2 WOW - Visit from the Fire Service Last week Bond class enjoyed a WOW visit from the fire service. The children learned about the important role of the fire service and what to do in an emergency. They watched an exhilarating race between one of our children and Colin the fireman to see who could get ready fastest in an emergency! The children then explored the fire engine and its equipment and got to use a real hose! The children were great and good fun was had by all! Thank you for visiting us Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Thursday 30 January 2025 NSPCC Visit Today we welcomed the NSPCC to our school to talk to our children about the 'Speak out Stay safe' safeguarding programme. The children took part in interactive and engaging sessions about their well-being and staying safe. We would like to say a big thank you to the NSPCC for visiting us!

Wednesday 29 January 2025 Nursery - Chinese New Year Nursery had an exciting time learning all about the Chinese New Year, discovering how it is celebrated and found out that this year is the Year of the Snake.

Thursday 16 January 2025 Nursery - WOW Under the Sea At the start of the half term Nursery had their wow day to introduce their topic ‘Under the sea’. The children were asked to dress for mess and staff prepared lots of fun sensory activities for the children to enjoy and help them to get enthused and interested in their new topic.

Friday 15 November 2024 Google 'Be Internet Legends' Assembly Our key stage two children had a fantastic assembly from Google 'Be Internet Legends'. The children tackled several challenges related to internet safety and each solved challenge revealed a letter in a mystery word. Our incredible children managed to reveal the word without a single error! They are truly 'Internet Legends' and we are very proud of them.

Monday 11 November 2024 Remembrance 2024 Today we held a special outdoor Remembrance assembly to show respect and remember those who have fought and died in wars worldwide.

Wednesday 6 November 2024 Whipsnade Visit - Year 2 Year 2 had an amazing time at Whipsnade Zoo! They saw lots of animals and participated in a fantastic workshop. A huge thank you to Marcus for teaching the children all about habitats and animal adaptations. They had a wonderful learning experience! #enjoyment #quality

Monday 4 November 2024 Year 5 WOW - Visiting Planetarian Year 5 kicked off their science topic in an out-of-this-world way with a visit from a planetarian! They learned about space, planets, constellations and the concepts of day and night. The children were super excited and incredibly motivated to delve deeper into the fascinating topic of space.

Thursday 24 October 2024 Riki Cycle performed by A Children's Story Today, our children were thrilled by a fantastic and engaging performance by achildrensstory.com in collaboration with Luton Council recycling and waste department. Their initiative aims to raise awareness, educate and encourage recycling in Luton. The production 'Ricki Cycle' had the children fully engaged, their shrieks of joy and laughter said it all! #enjoyment #unity

Tuesday 22 October 2024 Nursery - Spooky-Themed Fantastic Finish Nursery had a fantastic finish to their first half-term with a spooky-themed fun day! The children loved coming to school dressed up in spooky costumes or autumnal colours! With lots of fun and exciting activities to explore, they enjoyed arts and crafts with the nursery staff and even some counting fun!

Wednesday 16 October 2024 Year 5 - Virtual Author Visit Year 5 enjoyed a Virtual Author visit yesterday with Benjamin Dean! His latest book, The Boy Who Fell From the Sky, is an exciting sci-fi adventure exploring themes such as human rights and the importance of empathy, through the unexpected friendship between main character Zed and Spark – the boy who fell from the sky. It links nicely with our values of respect, empathy, friendship and enjoyment! #Respect #Empathy #Friendship #Enjoyment

Your donations are helping those in need in our local community via the Luton Foodbank. Tuesday 24 September 2024 Year 5 WOW - Legoland Year 5 had a fantastic day out at LEGOLAND Windsor exploring their science topic 'forces in action'. They experienced gravity, air resistance, water resistance and friction whilst learning all about how rollercoasters work!

Thursday 18 July 2024 Nursery - End of Year Celebration! On Thursday 18th July we had a nursery end of year celebration event. Our wonderful parents were invited in and the children were awarded end of year certificates in recognition of their amazing achievements. Red award medals and attendance awards were also given out. After that the children were able to enjoy some refreshments with their parents.

Wednesday 17 July 2024 Nursery Fantastic Finish - Fun Factory Visit On Wednesday 17th July our nursery children went to The Fun Factory indoor play area for their fantastic finish for the summer term. Lots of parents went with them and they enjoyed the walk there and back. They had so much fun playing on all the equipment together and developing their gross motor skills and confidence too. They had drinks while there and they had a giant cookie to eat on the way back to school.

Tuesday 2 July 2024 Italian Lessons - Pizza Making At Whitefield Primary Academy, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Recently, our Year 5 and 6 students had the delightful opportunity to engage in an Italian lesson focused on making pizza with Mrs Caterino. This hands-on experience not only taught them about Italian cuisine but also allowed them to develop essential skills in teamwork and creativity.

Monday 24 June 2024 Nursery - Mini Olympics On Sunday 23rd June it was ‘International Olympic Day’ we celebrated the following day by holding our own mini Olympics for our nursery children. The children loved taking part in a variety of Olympic sports with their parents. They showed lots of our school values throughout the sessions such as perseverance, determination, friendship, independence and resilience. On the same day, they also learnt about the Olympics and did some Olympic themed crafts including making their own flags, medals and Olympic torches!

Thursday 6 June 2024 Nursery WOW - Visit to Whipsnade Zoo Nursery recently went on their WOW trip to Whipsnade Zoo to introduce their new topic ‘Animals’. They were very lucky and grateful to be joined by lots of parent helpers. For some of the children and even some of the adults it was their first ever trip to Whipsnade Zoo which was very exciting! The children enjoyed the coach trip which linked back to our transport topic. They saw lots of amazing animals but of course, the best part of the day for the children was having a picnic lunch! Our nursery children were amazingly well behaved, we were so proud of them, they walked their little legs off to try and see as many animals as they could. They also went into the butterfly house as this was a great link to their previous topic of minibeasts.It was a FANTASTIC start to their new topic and they are looking forward to learning lots more about animals over the course of this half term.

Wednesday 22 May 2024 McKee Class - Fantastic Finish On their minibeast FANTASTIC FINISH day in McKee class they not only dressed up as minibeasts and talked about their costumes but they also all took part in an activity where they also learnt about how minibeasts move! The children had lots of fun giving it a try themselves - zooming, flapping their wings, curling up like a woodlouse and lots more!
